The Senior Medical Technician assist with maintaining the day to day operation of the medical needs of the consumers which include but are not limited to: scheduling routine medical office visits, follow-up medical appointments and treatment, assures physician orders are carried out and documented, Escorts consumers to medical appointments as needed, assures that documentation of all medical visits are delivered and recorded in consumer’s records in a timely manner. Assist with conducting and/or reviewing performance evaluations of Medical technicians in accordance with policies and procedures; monitors Medical Technician’s performance on a regular basis and provides feedback; meets regularly with facility directors and staff; communicates regularly with the consumer’s primary physician, medical specialists, pharmacist; monitors medical equipment and supplies; participates in Consumer Service Plan meetings; Assist with medication audits at least quarterly at all program sites to assure compliance of state regulations are being adhered to. Is on-call as a consultant when medical issues arise and assist with medical emergencies and hospitalizations and carries out other job duties as assigned.

Possess supervision skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, community and staff; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Investigative and interviewing skills; ability to analyze findings. identify problems and formulate solutions; knowledge of mental retardation and related physical, health, and behavioral concerns; enjoys working with all people; possess caring and positive attitude; and experience working with persons with mental retardation; two years of successful work experience with persons with developmental disabilities, mental illness.
